Beautiful snowfall yesterday, more than 4 inches at BNC & FNC, more up high on Peak 7 groomed Nordic trails.
Breckenridge is still open with 20Km of trail at 85% of all trails, we are working to re-open a section of Shock Hill black diamond trail today. The Beaver Meadows Intermediate Trail is still closed, but snow from this storm may open it by the weekend. The Morning Glory connector Trail, Gluteus Min and Max up to Peak 7 are all still closed. All of Peak 7 is open with the best coverage and skiing in the county. We recommend that everyone skiing Peak 7, drive up Ski Hill Road and park at the Forest Service Green gate at the trailhead parking, please do not park on any county roads, as you will be ticketed and towed in those on roadside locations. There is no Peak 7 or BNC trail system access allowed from the Peak’s Trailhead parking, this is for exclusive Peaks Trail from Breckenridge to Frisco users. No local or guests to Breckenridge should be parking or accessing the BNC or the BSR alpine area from the Peaks Trailhead parking lot, it is very limited parking.
Frisco is open with 6KM or 20% of our usual terrain open, mostly on man-made snow with some natural snow coverage, people are raving about the trail grooming and conditions in both locations. We are working to open more trails in Frisco with this current snow storm if possible. Frisco is at a discounted price of $15.00 for the Adult trail pass, until more trails open. The Green Mallard Snowshoe Trail at FNC opened this weekend, and people have been sledding on the Free HIlls at FNC as well, but this is a “Sled At Your Own Risk” option. We would recommend waiting for better coverage if it were our family.
It has come to our attention that these posts have not been clear as to what is open vs closed at the Breckenridge Nordic & Frisco Nordic Ski Center’s. Thank you for your comments as they are appreciated and help us to clarify our information. Please also use our Nordic Trail Map and ask the Nordic Staff at our front desks for updated trail openings and existing closures.
We also suggest skiers use the www.ColoradoCross Country.com site to find updated Trail Conditions on the best Nordic groomed trail systems in the State of Colorado.
